MY APPROACH TO PREGNANCY YOGA

Birth is a rite of passage.  It marks a journey away from life as you now know it and is one part of the transition to motherhood (or motherhood again).  Practicing yoga during pregnancy will give you tools and techniques you can use as you navigate this journey.

You can expect pranayama (breathing) practices which calm the nervous system, foster a deep connection to yourself and your baby (or babies) and provide an anchor point to return to at times of challenge during your motherhood journey.

I will also guide an asana (physical yoga) practice focussed on maintaining core strength, mobilising the body and gently stretching to find greater ease and more space.

There will be no presumption of prior experience or any particular level of flexibility or fitness - my approach to yoga is inclusive and somatic.   This means the focus is more on the way the movements feel in your body than on what they look like.

There will be time to connect to the community of other pregnant people you are sharing the practice with, and an opportunity to journey deeply within through guided meditation, visualisation and yoga nidra.

You are invited to bring your whole self to these classes, and will be welcomed with open arms.
