Is this retreat right for me?

This retreat is for anyone who feels they need an opportunity to reconnect to themselves and to rest.

You don’t need to have children to join.  You don’t need to have any prior experience of yoga or meditation.  You don’t need to have a certain level of fitness or flexibility.

You are so welcome to attend just as you are

This retreat is being held in the community space at the Severn Hospice in Bicton Heath.  You don't need to be from Shrewsbury to attend but you might want to factor in travel time!

What is included?

  • Movement…come back home to yourself with gentle, grounding yoga; move intuitively with ease; rest deeply with soft, restorative yin yoga.

  • Meditation…recharge and restore your energy with creative and nourishing yoga nidra; soothe your nervous system and come into a state of rest with calming breathwork.

  • Journalling…explore your thoughts and feelings and express yourself with gentle journalling exercises.

  • Nourishment…indulge in tea and cake provided by the wonderful Refresh Café.

  • Community…ease into a welcoming and friendly community of likeminded retreaters; enjoy an experience of space being held for you; fill up your cup.

When is the retreat and how much does it cost?

The retreat runs in two parts.

The first part is focussed on pausing and preparing before the summer holidays, and will run from 12.30-3.30 on Sunday 16 July.

The second part is an opportunity to rest and reflect and runs from 12.30-3.30 on Sunday 10 September.

You can book one part only for £35, or both for £60.  This price includes refreshments provided by the beautiful onsite café.

Hi!

I’m Tessa. I am a yoga teacher and a solicitor, and I am hosting this retreat.

As well as juggling two jobs I am also a mother to three children.  I have found motherhood to be fascinating, enlightening and (honestly) fairly gruelling.  Yoga has been my daily companion for the last ten years and a source of incredible support at some really difficult moments.

My yoga practices are a simple invitation to move with compassionate curiosity.  I focus on self exploration and movements that feel grounding and soothing.

I am kind and friendly and view my role as one of facilitation rather than instruction.  If you haven't been to one of my classes and would like an idea of what to expect, find half an hour to yourself and settle in to this seasonal yoga nidra (recording below)!

I am really pleased to welcome two guest facilitators to join me on this retreat and share their own experience and world view with you: Jules McGill and Sarah Little.

Jules is an inclusive women’s personal trainer, and founder of Aluna Wellbeing.  Whatever stage you’re at in life, she can help you find your confidence and strength and will leave you feeling empowered and unshakable.  Jules will be joining us in July for some uplifting movement as we pause and prepare for the summer break ahead.

Sarah is a self-love yoga teacher and coach, and founder of Self Love Sarah.  She offers compassionate and inclusive yoga and specialises in self-love, body positivity and empowerment for the mind, body and soul.  Sarah will be joining us in September for restorative yin yoga as we rest and reflect after the summer break.
